Tennessee William's co-adapted his own play and the result is an excellently performed melodrama which features a number of incidents and topics from Williams' own life - homosexuality and the lobotomy operation.
Taylor and Hepburn are in sterling form with Taylor arguably stealing the honours as the result of her climactic retelling of her cousin's death.
