Review of Suddenly It's Magic (2012) by Ian P — 05 Feb 2013
Though this is full of cheesy lines and scenes to make it an overly romantic movie, it has one of the most beautiful settings as a romance flick - shot both in Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Bangkok, Thailand which are both equally stunning in the movie.
I like most of the shots in Laoag. It captured and really promoted the tourism of the place. As for the leads, Erich Gonzales and Mario Maurer gave their best act but needs a little more "spark" in romantic chemistry department.
Commendable supporting casts - love their acts, fun scenes and serious scenes as well - both Filipino and Thai actors/actresses. The romantic scenes of the movie, majority of it actually has been shown in other Pinoy romance movies and quite follows the same formula of traditional love story with a conflict to conquer.
But good thing is that, the rehearsed dialogues and scripts along with its beautiful shot location of the film save it from being turned off because it is really a cheesy romantic movie that believes in "fairy tale love stories".
But it is still entertaining and worth a watch for movie fans who wants a feel good movie.
