Review of Sudden Impact (1983) by Kristopher R — 13 Aug 2008
Thanks to good, clear direction from Clint Eastwood himself, we see one of the best Dirty Harry films since the original. Inspector Harry Callahan's latest murder case takes him outside of San Francisco and into San Paulo where a rape victim is taking out her revenge on all of those involved in it, including some really dark and seedy characters.
There's someone excellent bloodshed that follows all the way towards the climax where Harry has an awesome and harrowing standoff with some evildoers on the boardwalk of a carnival. This was a scene that had me totally enthralled in the movie and, for once, rooting for the good guy.
Like I said, enjoy it because it's the closest these sequels ever get to being as awesome as the first film was.
