Review of Sudden Impact (1983) by Nathan N — 02 Jan 2010
Sondra Locke just had to weasle her way into a Dirty Harry movie. Whatever. Locke Spits On Your Grave in this, the fourth and least of the Harry films. Directed by Eastwood himself, this one realy could have been something, maybe even the best of the sequals but it gets bogged down in accomodating Locke and, just as bad, silly 80's conventions.
Composer Schifrin, who contributed music to the first two and last films in the series, puts forth an awful score. One that's silly and dated. Along for the cliche parade are a goofy black partner and MORE THAN ONE JOKE ABOUT A DOG FARTING.
This is not exactly classic Harry. But, despite all of this it's STILL Harry. Clint brings it every second and gives Harry some of his best moments. Sudden Impact disapoints but Harry never does.
