Review of Suburbicon (2017) by Dave R — 30 Oct 2017
Normally a movie written by the Coen brothers is one worth watching (unless it is titled Hey Caesar). However, Suburbican is not. It's written by the Coen's and directed by George Clooney and everything they are going for just falls flat.
Clooney is trying to make a statement about white America, marriage, morality and maybe a few other things in a kind of weird way and he just doesn't pull it off. I think they were going for a Fargo type of feel here, mixing comedy and crime drama together, but man does it not work.
This is a skip all the way.
