Review of Suburbicon (2017) by Nadjib R — 31 Jan 2018
With Suburbicon's tedious build up, you would expect something big is coming but what does come is a messy ending that's too flimsy and honestly predictable, Clooney sets everything right from the acting to the camera work but ultimately his plot fails him miserably, Damon & Moore's were actually good but they were limited by the flat screenplay that has nothing to offer except a bunch of sloppy sequences that try to achieve a lot of things at once from a dark comedy to civil rights and all the way up to a murder mystery, ultimately, the film exerts itself and fall down pretty hard, which is disappointing considering the caliber of the cast and even the director.
Clooney has made some respectable films so far but this one should have never left the drawing board.
