Review of Suburban Roulette (1968) by David S — 02 Sep 2009
A very interesting work of Fassbinders but I would have to say its one of his lesser works. The film does feature some incredible things with framing, uses windows and door frames, its pretty amazing. Fassbinder really is a master of camera motion, as the camera directs the audience through their journey as well as gives us an idea of how the characters are feeling.
The best scene in this film is by far the scene where two cheating partners run into each other near the beginning; that scene is perfection. All in all is definitely solid, but I just couldn't get into the story enough to rate this highly.
