Another quirky little film that works well because of that peculiarly British style of comedy that relies on the awkwardness of human ineraction.

Filled with lots of subtle humour and poignant moments, I didn't laugh out loud but I certainly laughed.

Oliver Tate's story will echo with anyone who has undergone the trials and tribulations of confused teenage romance, and the subplot about saving his parent's marriage is richer for the naivety which Oliver brings to the narration.

I'm not sure what Ben Stiller's input into the film was but I'm glad that Richard Ayoade directed it.

I can think of far worse ways to spend an hour and thirty seven minutes.
