Review of Submarine (2011) by Kevin D — 16 Sep 2011
Wonderful, superbly realised story of teenage angst and pain. Sad, funny, involving and very original. First time director Ayoade has crafted a film of great heart and humour. The story of Oliver Tate in 80s Wales is handled with great care and humanity.
Wry and clever, it traces Oliver's love for Jordana and also the battle to keep his parents' marriage afloat. This is a small film, but incredibly well done.
