Review of Submarine (2011) by Fred V — 03 Nov 2015
Submarine is a warm, cool and easygoing adventure of a young guy trying to make his dreams come true in his mini-universe. The casting has been done very well. I had many moments during the movie I wanted to scream to the main characters to do/ not do certain things, which I think is always a good sign.
The movie had moments were it could have been stronger. For instance, why did they not do anything with the mobbing victim girl? A follow-up was called for. And why was the mother of the main girlfriend not introduced earlier, but instead added as some sort of afterthought? Stuff like that could have been done somewhat better, but overall a very excellent movie indeed!
