Review of Struck by Lightning (2013) by Yoli B — 09 Jan 2013

First, the plot is different. Every high school story is about love and friendship and if I am sincere I never feel like the leading role. Everything becomes so perfect and funny and she/he finds her/his true love - I like those films because I like silly love stories, but I know that the plots arenâ(TM)t original and itâ(TM)s the same but with others handsome actors. Struck By Lightning analyses how is the life for a different guy, someone who isnâ(TM)t expecting to find his love, someone who is expecting to succeed in what he likes. Someone who is passionate and hard-working.

Second, in a philosophical way. Carsonâ(TM)s idea of blackmailing makes me think about Machiavelliâ(TM)s theory. Does the end justify the mean? I donâ(TM)t think so, and Carson explores and digs into that theory, shows us possible situations - Actually, if Iâ(TM)d have to read a book in philosophy about ethics and moral Iâ(TM)d choose this between others.

Third, I read a review where the author was saying this: â it makes an inadvertent but hugely compelling pro-bullying argument.â? If you want the source just ask me :) I donâ(TM)t agree with this guy, seriously do you think Chris is pro-bullying? Despite his past, I thing it is exactly the opposite. Câ(TM)mon, bullying is happening and we have to make aware the children, they do not have to bully on someone!

Also I think Chris is showing us here that Nothing is what it looks like. That everyone has his preoccupations and his issues -with his family, school, society, with himself. Because today nobody cares about the others at the time to do something, and thatâ(TM)s a thing we should learn. We have to take time to care about others and be nicer.

Finally, Iâ(TM)ve learnt from the book that I donâ(TM)t have to let anyone piss me! I have to work hard because always there will be rivalry! Nobody ins born with everything done! Iâ(TM)m very submissive and this book has helped me to be more powerful and strong!

Just one more thing, I felt related with Carson when he is walking through the hallways, seriously can you not walk faster please? I like those little things that made me laugh while I was reading.
