Review of Struck by Lightning (2013) by Elaine R — 10 Jan 2013

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it would probably be another predictable high school teen movie but it wasn't. It had an interesting unique plotline that I thought was well written and the acting was brilliant from all the cast.

I didn't think it was a comedy though I think I shed just as much tears as laughs. Whilst some may find Carson unlikable, I did sympathise with him as I could identify with him in ways. I guess if you had an easy high school life or just don't mind conforming to society then you would probably wouldn't understand his frustrations and so would just find him plain unlikable.

I don't understand why it doesn't have a fresh rating. It one of the more original teen movies made and the lead character is more interesting than the usual "good girl outcast" that is usually seen in films. But I guess everyone's taste is different. Will definitely rewatch again.
