Review of Stroszek (1977) by Zeeshan M — 14 Jun 2008
If this is a critique of capitalism or the united states, it is so mellow and gentle that one might say, "what's that? can't hear you." if this is a "as is" representation of things and a character study, then it's rather uninteresting and unsatisfactory for me.
Bruno S. was quite a find but shone more impressively in Enigma of Kaspar Hauser. As always good music and performances but it's a wank without orgasm. Lars Von Trier's problematic and borderline misogynistic work has done this sort of thing better with a little more courage and honesty.
