Review of Stroszek (1977) by Abigail W — 02 Apr 2009
This movie ends with the image of a dancing chicken. This isn't a bad thing--something in this sprawlingly logical narrative smacks of being a sort of fore-runner for Napolean Dynamite. Only the bullys are more brutal, the world less kind, and everything goes up in flames. And yet, there are these tender moments in which the characters are so lovable.
This is the most offbeat 'road movie' I've come across so far...I have a feeling this has only just begun.
While it is NR I would say it is definately not for the kids.
