I first heard of Werner Herzog through his involvement with two of Harmony Korine's films, "Julien Donkey-Boy" and "Mister Lonely," both of which I loved. So I searched out Herzog's work to gain an understanding of one of the young Korine's biggest influences.

I am not disappointed. Herzog is a master of camera movement and framing, and his odd little characters are fascinating. The satire could be sharper and the pace quicker, but this is a wonderfully original film.
