Review of Stripes (2005) by Kristal C — 30 Jun 2009
Thoughts on "Stripes": Did anyone dare tell Kubrick while making "Full Metal Jacket" how similar it is to "Stripes"? Is "Stripes" severely underwritten, relying too heavily on improv, or is the generous room for improv the best part of the script? Would any of Bill Murray's movies be any good without Bill Murray? How adorable are PJ Soles and Sean Young, even though they're completely wrong as MPs? How much did I love the women's-shower and mud-wrestling scenes as a ten-year-old, and how many times did I watch this movie on HBO back then?
