Review of Stripes (2005) by Randy M — 11 Jul 2008
Picked this up last night in a Bill Murray 3/pack DVD set at Ross for like 4 bucks. (along with Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day) Of course the first one I watch is the classic Stripes. I watched the extended cut version, which really didn't improve the film, in fact the scenes cut were so awful, you could easily see why they were orginally dropped from the film.
Now, that being said this film still is a lot of fun and it brought back a lot of memories of being a kid and sneaking up late at night to watch it on HBO. Warren Oates was fantastic as straight man Sgt.
Hulka. Over all this is an American Comedy Classic. Not a 5 star comedy, but still really strong.
