One of my favorite movies evah. Stupid story line, hackneyed script but Baz Luhrmann is at his finest before he was ruined by someone offering him too much money to make the howler, Moulon Rouge. It's funny and parodic, has dancing and characters that work, and has the nerve to reach deep down inside to that cornball place in all of us that wants the underdog to win.
It's the comfort food of movies that I turn to when I just need to get out of my own head for awhile.
