Review of Streets of Fire (1984) by Ian C — 11 Sep 2012
Heavily stylized cultish 80s effort, set in a retro 50s NY.
Notable stars include an extremely camp Willem Dafoe, Rick Moranis as, well, Rick Moranis and Bill Paxton.
Enjoyable enough, it exists purely as a vehicle for the rock and roll stylings and the musical scenes. However this is also a weakness as the music isn't as unifying as it might be (Ry Cooder clashes with Jim Steinman) and is sometimes responsible for a loss of momentum.
