Review of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) by Sean G — 14 Aug 2009

Nope, I've never played the video game "Streetfighter" so my review is not based on a comparison. That being said, the story is okay but the director seems clueless about street fighter, other than the name. I thought Nash was going to be a real bad ass, instead, he was just lame. The only potentially cool character ,Vega (Black Eyed Peas' Taboo) got taken out in about 30 seconds which was so lame!!! However, Bison was great as an evil and twisted sadistic villain.

Kristin Kreuk plays Chun-Li and is better known for her Lana Lang role in Smallville. She was the ONLY good thing about this movie but even she disappointed because she did not fit the character's tough personality.

At the end of this movie I am still at a loss as to this movie being called Street Fighter.

Positive: The Tai Chi scene at the start...nicely and beautifully done! Cool Kung Fu moves and an awesome aura blast scene.
