I've never played any of the games, nor seen any of the tv shows or the other movie, and I found that I due to the setup and the explanations present in this movie, I was able to understand and follow perfectly fine.
Great cast was put together to play their respective roles. Kreuk impressed me in this one, being able to carry a movie after her continued role on Smallville on television.
The martial arts sequences were really good and cool.
