Review of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) by Nick J — 15 Mar 2010
Very poor dialogue and Chris Klein is terrible. I know nothing of the video game, but do get a sense of fans being conned into thinking this was made for them.
The film is a good grade 'B' outing, (even Michael Clark Duncan can't be bothered to raise his game), with grade 'A' pretentions. The characters and voice-over do too much explaining, which treats the viewer like an idiot because most of it is unnecessary.
If you like martial arts and cheesy plots then this will be a good DVD/TV movie. If you're a fan, forget it (judging by the response), but 4%?!?? Surely that's too harsh and is more about fan betrayal than the product itself. Even Howard the Duck is in double figures. C'mon people, where's the forgiveness?
