Review of Street Fighter (1994) by Peter M — 19 Jun 2013
Pitiful. Pathetic. Even Van Damn's biceps cannot save this movie from collapsing on itself. Everything is outrageous and you just don't care enough. If you grew up with this movie, the nostalgic value will be off the charts and if you played Street Fighter, you may be in for a treat, but also the characters are sort of wimpy versions of their game counter-parts.
The actors playing them are just not as cool. They don't even let the characters fight enough in their own styles. It tries to be campy in a good way and there are some funny moments with Zangief and Dee Jay but really, pop in this movie if you're in just the right mood.
Otherwise, save yourself.
