Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Sam P — 20 Jul 2008
Obviously it's a strong piece of work but the pretext to the violence is a smidge flimsy. I get it's supposed to be some subconcious instigation by the hoffman character and thus a wider comment by peckinpah of our intrinsic desire for violent redemption and yada yada.
.. but I don't buy it.
