Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Sam S — 25 Aug 2011
Hearing about how it was considered the most extremely violent movie of the time that it came out and how it was cut down due to an intense rape scene in the movie that was considered x-rated at the time, and how it's supposedly censored in England to this day, I expected an extremely violent bloodbath with this movie but after watching all the movie I thought that this movie is very tame by today's standards and I've seen worse than this in terms of violence but it was a pretty good action/drama about an American Mathematician played by Dustin Hoffman and his English Wife retreating to the English countryside for some peace and tranquility but instead are harrased by local construction workers and don't have peace in the end.
I think depsite it's controversy, this is one of Sam Peckinpah's best films!
