Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Jimmie H — 22 Jul 2009
This is a tough nut to crack. You're not exactly sure where director Sam Peckinpah is coming from, or what point he is trying to make. I think he just laid the story out there and lets you question your own morality, question your own views on violence, and question wheither or not the ends justify the means.
This film is intense, brutal and quite disturbing. It is tough to watch at times, yet you can't exactly make yourself turn away.
