Review of Strangers on a Train (1951) by J K — 04 Apr 2010
First-rate film noir courtesy of Mr. Hitchcock. A disturbingly plausible story leads to a climax that manages to be exhilarating when viewed, but dubious when actually thought about. Such is the greatness of Hitchcock's fantastic, inimitable direction; this film features many memorable scenes and shot constructions.
Enjoyed the winks and nods to the gay subtext; that Hitchcock is a crafty bastard. Very witty, very exciting, and very disturbing.
