Review of Strangers on a Train (1951) by Quinn H — 11 Jun 2008
Suspense City is where I saw this film - well done. Hitchcock really ropes you in with the first scene on the train. Farley Granger is a well-known tennis player (but not too well know) and Robert Walker steals every scene as a psycho wanting to trade murders.
Robert Walker was amazing in this film and it's very sad knowing that he died the same year it was released. He reminded me a lot of James Dean and James Cagney in "White Heat." He was very fun to watch in this role.
The editing was excellent (the tennis match scene was amazing) and the diaologue was great. Many great lines....my favorite came from Senator regarding the press - "soon they'll be talking about orgies." Wow - 1951?
Awesome film!
