Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Curtis F — 14 Apr 2008
Like Sonatine or Masculine Feminine, this movie really isn't about things happening per se but more about characters, and that's how I like my movies, though this film wasn't quite as good as the two previous mentioned.
Composed entirely of long takes separated by black screens and segmented into 3 sections, it certainly is an interesting film stylistically and the events in the film are both hilarious and depressing.
It's a hard film to explain, but it might be the quintessential independent film.
