Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Cole B — 02 Jul 2008
The definition of low budget, independent filmmaking, "Stranger Than Paradise" is filled with dark humor and low-key performances -- both of which Jarmusch films are known to have. The film, while unspectacular and unflashy, moves along at such a consistent, well-directed pace (with a provoking story to boot), it's a benchmark of how cheap films can be made big.
