Review of Stranger Than Paradise (1984) by Chucho F — 04 Oct 2010
It fades in. We see the scene, no cuts, all one take. Then fade to black and do the same thing until the movie is over. That's really all it is. But not really. This movie is The essence of taking something so simple and transforming it into something simply irresistible.
It's hilarious. The cast is one of the most likable I've ever encountered on film. The screenplay, again, is simple and slow and with really, in comparison to most films, very little dialogue. Oh but when it comes, you don't want it to go. I highly recommend this to everyone who wants to have fun.
