Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2006) by Joel D — 25 Dec 2011
Direction that fails to properly control the film in times of excitement and pacing issues which become more apparent the more times viewed are the only problems with this otherwise, partly-realised comedy/drama. Will gives an admirable performance and shows a genuinely likeable, heart-warming side to his personality. An exercise in all around confirmation that making a pleasing, smart, emotional film can be achieved if a fine cast and even half decent script are chosen.
QUICK FIRE SINGLE SENTENCE REVIEW = Kind of like "Sliding Doors" except a lot more bearable on multiple viewings.
