Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2000) by Jeremiah K — 31 Mar 2012
There is a saying that goes ''Life is what you make of it'' and that is in perfect display here. Will Ferrell gives the finest performance of his career so far,and in a role that isnt laugh-out loud funny like most of his roles are.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is just as good as a sexy bakery worker that gets audited by the IRS,and therefore meets Harold(Will). At first they dont get along, but when they finally click its wonderful. Will and Maggie are the main draws here, although Dustin Hoffman does an admirable job in a lesser role.
The only downside is Queen Latifah and Emma Thompson,as I didnt care for the roles they had. Overall, this is one of the better movies I have seen in some time.
