Review of Strangeland (1998) by Grant H — 06 Aug 2013
I was expecting this one to totally suck. It only half sucked. Considering he's the lead singer for a theatrical glam-rock band, I figured Dee Snyder give us a pretty dark, twisted (get it?) story. It starts off well enough, not particularly scary or gory but passable. What really kills this movie (besides BAAAAAD acting) is the sub-plot of Snyders character being captured, found not guilty due to insanity for murder and torture, and in a few short years released back into the general public a rehabilitated man. Then overnight he turns evil again. I'm glad I didn't spend good money on this on in the theater, but it's worth a watch from home online.
On the plus side, the soundtrack is really good. Not sure if they're DS compositions but some good rocking tunes in there.
