Ignore the bad reviews. I think the reviewers forgot this is a kid's movie. My grandkids loved it. It did a great job of teaching that true love is found under sometimes hideous exteriors. And what I loved most is they managed to turn a hideous exterior into something lovable and attractive by simple acts of kindness and understanding.
Go, especially if you have a pre-teen. But even my little 4 year old got it.
