Review of Strange Days (1995) by Robert M — 25 Apr 2010
A personal favourite. I feel a lot of people may disagree with me here but, personally, I thought this movie was fucking awesome. It's a thought-provoking concept that's accompanied by an intelligent and gripping storyline that presents hard questions concerning society, identity and human consciousness.
There's also some great action, solid acting and an amazing soundtrack. The time-frame of the movie is a little laughable now (the last two days of 1999 didn't really seem quite this exciting).
However, if one casts this aside (as well as the painfully obvious twist) there lies a truly brilliant sci-fi/thriller that stands as one of the greatest films of the 1990s.
