Review of Strange Days (1995) by Tom T — 18 Sep 2010
A story written by James Cameron and the direction of his then wife Kathryn Bigelow created Strange Days. A film which sees Ralph Fiennes act as a street hustler in SQUID recordings; a recording that makes its recipient feel as if its real and happening in front of them.
The recordings are of adrenaline filled car races, sexual fantasies, and even witnesses to murder. However when Lenny the lead role plays a recording given to him he witnesses the rape and murder of a woman.
Being a former cop he attempts to find out who made the tape, but along the way he gets tangled up with a load of other twists to the story. Strange Days is a futuristic who done it thriller which is brilliantly written by Cameron and directed just as well by Bigelow.
