Review of Strange Days (1995) by Paavo I — 08 Mar 2010
Kathryn Bigelow channels no less than Hitchcock, Powell and Gilliam from a script of her ex-husband James Cameron. And it does work together. Cameron had more clever ideas about sharing another body's experiences here, than what was left for Avatar.
Bigelow doesn't fall on the super-conspiracy, world-end wave of most end-of-the-millennium movies. The end result is bleak, but gives hope as well. Still, the final scene is a bit too much.
