Review of Strange Days (1995) by Chuck M — 29 Sep 2008
The first two times that I tried to watch this movie, I didn't make it more than 20 minutes in. It's an intense movie: it shows a dirty, disgusting city of Los Angeles (think about LA during the race riots after the Rodney King riots, then make it really bad - and that's normal). Then, add in a device that lets people relive memories in real time... and make one of those tapes force the wearer to relive a man beating, tying up, raping and murdering a woman.
What the story is actually about is the desire to show truth and justice to an injured city, and the need for a person to find those relationships in life that are special and worthy of love.
Interesting movie.
