Review of Straight Time (1978) by Tim H — 02 Sep 2007
Empathy for Hoffman as a convict is strong, especially as he struggles to communicate with a dick of a parole officer in the beginning. The futility of trying to go straight without being regarded as human ultimately renders him an unstoppable force, brazen and unreasonable.
Dustin Hoffman's performance is superb, owing to his versatility and inherent skill.
