Recently released on DVD, I was finally able to retire my "previously viewed" VHS copy. The film remains an absolute standout in the career of Hoffman (he often cites Straight Time as being his very best performance).
Throw in great turns by Gary Busey & Harry Dean Stanton, plus a strong script and you've got one of the finest overlooked treaures of the 70s.
