Straight Outta Compton is a energy filled true story of renegades and rebels who changed how rappers were conceived and are thought of during the past few decades. It manages to be a film with a great cast but a predictable story that is better than most expectations.
First of all the film manages to have a great cast, dialogue and messages. It truly immersed the viewer into the world these members had to go through to get to the top of the food chain.
On the other hand the film is pretty predictable when it comes to a major plot point. It also seems to overdo the position of law enforcement in the film resulting in events that are over dramatized.
Overall this was a very powerful film experience though overdramatized version of the culture changing impact of the NWA.
Rating: 7.8 (B+).
