Review of Straight Outta Compton (2015) by Alexzander J. G — 21 Feb 2017
The mid to late 1980's was a time for new music. Grunge was coming up, rock was making a comeback, and hip hop was being invented. N.W.A. were largely responsible for the swell of real-life hip hop.
Just the list of names involved with them (Easy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, Tupac, Snoop Dogg) would be responsible for this genre. And the film scores big on portraying the rise. The cast not only looks like the real guys, but does a fabulous job as well.
You do not have to be a fan of the music to enjoy the film, not in the least.
