Review of Stop Making Sense (1984) by Brian H — 23 Jan 2008
I love Talking Heads and that's really what makes this concert film such a delight. David Byrne is highly unusual and shows himself as a true artist with his lively show from the 80's. Jonathan Demme does a great job in capturing the moment (I especially love when he shows the audience towards the end of the film).
But the true star here is Byrne and his avant garde but catchy music. And I love how he brings the band members on one at a time in a building of music and art and madness. If you're not a Talking Heads fan, I dare you to not be after you witness their inventiveness.
