Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Paul W — 26 May 2009
This movie and others like it (movies dealing realistically with American troops' experiences in Iraq and at home) failed at the box office, and probably isn't doing too well in the DVD market either.
I think most Americans would rather watch Starship Troopers than Stop Loss or In the Valley of Elah, and that's just fucked up. This is a good movie about serious problems, well acted and directed, moving, and very, very sad.
