Review of Stop-Loss (2008) by Brooke M — 09 Jul 2009
It was definitely an 'MTV' movie on the war. It wasn't thought provoking for me & didn't change my opinion on the war, but there were some good performances in it. I liked that they used some actual soldiers, that gave it more credibility but overall, it was a pretty soft war flick that lacked in depth.
I will say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will eventually be named one of the best actors of my generation. Knowing his stance on the war and the lengths he went through to make his character believable proves his dedication as an actor & shows his talent.
To me, he was the shining light in the film.
