Review of Stone (2012) by Juan H — 06 Nov 2011
Its unfortunate that a real good cast has no script to work with. I really like the premise of the story but the direction takes this film nowhere. The opening scene is the only scene that gives us any kind of good background but is quickly forgotten until the very end, when we no longer care.
Norton's role from "thug" to "righteous" man is quickly developed, too quickly actually. The director really wants us to care about De Niro's character but the character is so badly written that you can't get behind the performance.
I quickly lost interest in this film and could never get it back.
