Review of Stone (2010) by Jane D — 01 Jun 2012
A little too close for comfort for me, but I was surprised how artfully done this movie was-- not your typical prison movie. There were a lot of subtle points and meanings. Some things were just unrealistic like the convict's transformation, but overall a very intriguing movie that causes you to think about life and the places that it takes you.
It also covers what you are capable of and how you think about it. I was impressed with Edward Norton's portrayal, as I could not imagine him as a convict. This was recommended to us after I already wanted to see it, so it was definitely worth watching.
A lot of discussion about religion and challenging conventional thought in this film as well.
