Review of Stolen Kisses (1968) by Christopher R — 30 Aug 2007
"400 Blows" was landmark cinema in a way this sequel could never be, so instead we get something better, delightfully humane entertainment from a director who doesn't need to pitch at making history, just to tell good stories about characters we like to watch.
For me, Antoine Doinel is such a character. The third in the series, "Stolen Kisses" is funny, romantic and raw in the freewheeling way life is, and not slave to the formula that has sunk modern romantic comedy, Truffaut offers a true gem.
