Review of Stockholm (2019) by Nicolette — 16 May 2019
From books to stages to the big screen, the bond between brothers is a theme that many of us enjoy exploring. Stockholm falls somewhere in between Lion King and Step Brothers when it comes to the two leading bank robbers.
Robert Budreau directs Ethan Hawke and Mark Strong in a hilarious best friend, brotherly love/hate relationship. Hawke’s character, Lars, robs a bank and as one of his demands he orders his best friend, Gunner (Mark Strong), be released from prison.
Throughout the movie we learn about their history together and see the differences in their personalities and changes in their dynamic with each other. The difference between loyalty and blind devotion is tested and tried.
